RANCHO MURIETA, CA (MPG) - The Kiwanis Club of Rancho Murieta will present its annual Easter egg hunt and no-host family picnic on Saturday April 19, at Stonehouse Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will happen, rain or shine.

Children, their families, and guests are invited to join the Easter egg hunt, featuring more than 4,500 plastic eggs filled with stickers and candy. In addition to the free egg hunt, kids can enjoy a variety of activities, including a petting zoo, Easter crafts, cookie decorating and glitter tattoos. Popcorn, juice and water also will be available for a family-friendly price. Parents may purchase activity and refreshment tickets using cash or credit cards.

The Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photo opportunities. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District will display their trucks and equipment, unless they’re called away for an emergency, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department will host an information table.

The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the softball field outfield and will be divided by age groups, with the following starting times: 11:20 a.m. for ages 2-4 egg hunt with stickers, 11:40 a.m. for ages 5-7 egg hunt with candy and 12:00 p.m. for ages 8-10 egg hunt with candy.

The event will conclude with a special performance by the Murieta Dance Company at 12:30 p.m.
The Kiwanis Club thanks the Girl Scouts, the Cosumnes River Elementary K-Kids and the Rancho Murieta Key Club for stuffing the plastic eggs, the Rancho Murieta Key Club for helping with the various activities and refreshment sales, and Scout Troop 633 for helping to set up and tear down the event.
