RANCHO MURIETA, CA (MPG) - The Rancho Murieta Country Club Women’s Golf Club recently walked away with winning honors for the Low Gross River Valley Team Play for 2025. The final event was held last month at North Ridge Country Club in Fair Oaks, a premiere championship golf course.
Captain Patty Jenco said, “It was a tight race, but in the end team RMCC prevailed.”
Rancho Murieta’s club scored a total of 386 points for the season of gross score play. At the end of the final match, a tie resulted between Rancho Murieta and the women from El Macero Country Club.
According to League rules, when the season finishes with teams sharing equal points, scores from the match held between the two teams will be used, with the winner of that head-to-head match being declared the winner, thus breaking the tie. The Rancho Murieta women had played the El Macero ladies at Cameron Park Country Club earlier in the season, with Rancho Murieta winning that match by nine points. This resulted in RMCC Women’s Golf Club Team Play team being declared the 2025 Team Play champion for the River Valley League.
Central Bay League Championships will be the next competition for the Rancho Murieta ladies as they represent the River Valley Team Play League.
Jenco went on to say, “We are honored to be moving on to the Central Bay League Championship as the representatives of River Valley Team Play League.” This net best-ball competition will be held Monday, Sept. 15 at Haggin-Oaks Golf Complex. The shotgun playoff will begin at noon on the MacKenzie Course and is open to spectators; all are invited to root on our local team. Teams and players from around Northern California will be represented.
The Rancho Murieta Women’s Golf Club is practicing hard in hopes of bringing home the trophy and the prestige of winning. Yolo Flyers Club Team Play women will be representing River Valley Team Play in the low net (using handicaps) competition, having earned 345 points during the season of play.
